Lip Kit for $30 or Less
This was brought to my attention by my buddy Jon (the guy with the Prius, who somehow manages to push it like a mad man)
We both did this on our cars tonight - and its pretty effective/sexy =D
What you'll want is:
3M double sided tape
Garage door bottom seal (Available at Home Depot or Rona)
car jack if you want to be really careful with it
and, Isopropyl alcohol will help the 3M adhesives stick better to the bumper
The pictures below are borrowed from a Honda Fit Forum, I'll upload pics of the Lip we did on my eclipse later on in the morning...when there's light
The 3M tape holds on well, but I used a few studs to hold the lip+3M tape in place
So far it holds while going 80km/h on the streets,
But I must admit, it does look a little bootleg lol - So its a good temporary lip,
Also, once you're done - throw on some Tire Shine'n Spray onto the Lip to make it look nice:

it looks soft and easily breakable...

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
It's soft and rubbery, so it'll be good on curbs. It'll probably just depress a bit, then spring back out. I imagine it deforms a bit from driving though ... wind and all.
I have some of that trim at the parent's place from when I was supposed to fix the garage ... but never got around to doing so ...

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
Took me a long time, but to help fight the deformation - we ran two thing metal wires through the entire length of the "lip"
it holds well - but we we're thinking of trying to Plasti-dip the whole thing (don't know how it would turn out) but I think it'll be worth a shot

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
Hahahaha, someones tryna sell this crap on ebay (same as what i've done to my car with th sealer)
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Universal-Front-Lip-Splitter-Fits-all-/230569849919?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35af08b43f
Yeah its alot of work, but its pretty cost effective and quite a worthy project (especially considering they don't make Lip kits for my Eclipse - only full on ricey bumpers)

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
I've seen this before.
They call it "HD Lip" in the TM3 forums = Home Depot Lip...
My buddy tried it on his Mazda 3 - looked decent - but removed it eventually coz it def0rms overtime..

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
personal experience - drove over a small snow bank that had spilled out onto the road - might have weakened it - on the way home from Brampton this evening it kinda tore off and dissapeared
it was hwy7.... might have been going a bit fast
Looked nice while it lasted though, i must say

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
I would do it, i've seen many rides with it done and it can be done clean. And like it was said before, you can scrape it/tear it off and not worry about it.

Re: Lip Kit for $30 or Less
Sure why not, as long as you get the proper length and take time getting it on straight.
