Honestly ... here's what you can expect as an answer:

1) Why not just buy a Ralliart? It'll end up costing as much anyway plus you'll have AWD.
My return, 5sp and when you already own the car, there's not much trade-up value.

Also, people wouldn't be saying silly things like that if the RA wasn't boosted or there was no EvoX version. When people ask if its worth boosting a Civic you don't get 'Why not just buy a Type R?' ...

I'm voting yes, because the Lancer does need a bit of a power boost. Should be able to run 8-11psi on stock internals. Some guy in Australia has been running 11psi for about a year now, no problems.
If you DO boost your car, I'd love to follow along, see what needs to be done, maybe come watch if you don't mind because I've considered boosting my Lancer, just don't have the funds and kinda want to hang on to the warrenty for a bit longer, Laughing.

On a side note, I'm kinda looking around to see how I could supercharge my Lancer. Turbo would be nice for more boost, but engine can't reliably hold more than 8-11psi for too long I don't think, and while BOV > SC whine (imo), for DD, the more consistent boost f/ a SC will be kinder on the internals and give me more low end power, which is what I want (off the track). My $0.02.

The RA doesn't come in M/T only CVT. Correct me if I'm wrong tho

Personnaly I'd Supercharge rather than Turbo mine. But I dunno about you guys, but mine already torque steers like a whore as well as understeers (FWD can go phuk itself..). If I was to boost mine with either method, I'd be looking to take care of as much of those issues as possible at the same time.

That being said, to each their own, there's plenty of stuff Ive seen people do to their lancers I wouldnt necessarily do and visa-versa (ex: I want to airride mine, most nvr would) Whatever you do, youre gonna lose a buncha money on it so make sure you really want too Laughing Lancer trade-in/resale can also go phuk itself...

SC you need internals. turbo you don't. that's the main thing about the 2.

I've done majority of my mods on suspension so I've safe on that. only thing I need is rear camber kit and front sway and end links to do 95% of suspension mods to the lancer. air ride would be awesome but pricey. I have see kits for like $500 and universal bags for $90 each so, that would be budget price.

I would love to turbo it just cuz not many ppl have a boosted FWD lancer. the RRM kit imo is over priced. I would most likey piece together a kit and end up being cheaper.

I think I will just stay focusing on the suspension.....for now. I know I need to go lower and I want to but i still have to maintain it to be a DD witch I seem to be doing ok by that but I want lower. might experiment this weekend on that

Lol, YOU are 100% correct ... bit of a technicality. I shall correct myself. There is no traditional manual 5-speed for the RA. I was expecting a 2011 5-speed RA, which I would have traded up for, but no such luck.

In case anyone is wondering, I just read this.

CVT: (Continuously Variable Transmission)
"The CVT is essentially an Automatic transmission with no gears - it has a torque converter (not a clutch.) Instead of using a planetary gear system like a traditional auto it has a steel belt that continuously changes ratios via two adjustable spindles."

im not 100% sure on this, but I think there's more involved than just suspension upgrades when battling torque steer. Seems there's got to be something related to the drivetrain involved. But I really dont know much about it technically speaking, just that my car tries to enter oncoming traffic if i launch hard at a green light Laughing

Offtopic but, ya bags are expensive, I have a couple guys who have been begging me to let them bag my car for like 2yrs, I'd just have to pay for parts, theyve done it to a lot of trucks, large older cars, a golf cart Laughing itd be fairly easy to do our car, cause you buy new struts, basically a coilover with an airsleeve instead of a spring... but parts are still $$, its on the list though!!

sounds like you have one wheel spinning faster then the outher on a launch @ greenlight maybe this is why you are pulling to the left? diff maybe? just thinking of what it can be

no LSD, ya ... would help, but w/ FWD, think there will always be torque steer ... just hit the gym, Laughing
Even at the track, I barely notice the torque steer. Just gotta remember, to hold onto the steering wheel.

we had this convo before, for some reason the "redneck"/truck crew loves my car and wanna bag it, they wont help anyone else they know anymore cause they end up doing all this extra work for free... Google a place called altered altitudes, if I was gonna get a hook up from the guys I know, thats the shop I'd be going too for sure.

There's a guy whose in the process of turboing a lancer with the help of Magnus Motorsports and the conclusion is just buy a raillart. Also you've got your car lowered but has it been cornered weighted or is it just for looks?
