as the title says it, can anyone recommend a good place to go and get my car on a dyno. I need to see some numbers, also what would be the best way to track 0-60 (cellphone app?)?

The folks from TTS were at Advance Power House a while back. Check them out.

There are a large number of Apps, but none would be 100% accurate.

^ MY mistake, I guess the original plan was to go to APH but you guys ended up going to Engineered Automotive.

We went to APH last year, this year was EA.
I do believe you are right on initially planning on going back to APH this year but going to EA instead.
EA is pretty sick, 1/4 mi sim, and dyno. Definitely go check it out!

Yeah they seems really good and not a far drive too. I might go there after winter when I get my new inter-cooler from Nameless.
For now I booked at a dyno place near my house, I just need to see some numbers and nothing else, also its only a $70 charge.
I'll post the numbers tomorrow afternoon, and they are also going to record the run, so I'll link that as well....never heard my own exhaust tune from the outside, just a bunch of angry faces in the rear view mirror.

my peak torque/whp match that of the tuners dyno (Nameless Performance) run so that's good. Thing is my car has a limiter at 165mph (it can go quite a bit past that if allowed), and pre-set shift points....even in manual mode, so you can't rev it high and hold it. Makes it hard/impossible to do a good dyno run to test the engines max output, but to the point that they could test it was a gain of 47whp over bonestock at just under 6k (redline is 8k):
181whp stock vs 228.69whp on mine, that's not at redline or max speed, so in theory its a bit higher then that on both ends; stock and mine.

made a mistake stock peak was at 205whp but at about 5750 rpm there was a 47hp difference.

Nice numbers.

Very odd that you cant redline it even in manual.

the way it works, is the pre-shifts stay, when you go in manual mode once you pass those pre-shift by a small margin it upshifts, or downshift (if you are slowing down) for you, to preserve itself. Plus if I can't get the car to its real top speed on the dyno I can't get the high end numbers....but under real driving condition you don't have to, like flooring while going up hill. What I need is a dyno that can replicate actual driving conditions, and loads. I'll prolly try a more advance place a little later on, because I know they have dynos that can replicate race tracks and such.

I booked dyno run with them for Monday, going to also do a 0-60, 1/4 mile sprint........the numbers are just way off, the gain from mods is the same, but the numbers are off. I took a closer look at other dyno runs, it should be closer to 230whp stock vs 255+whp with my mods, and not 205wps stock vs 230whp. cuz there is no way that you lose 70hp from the flywheel (275hp) to the wheels on a brand new modern car...its just not right, that's almost a 25% loss. I can't sleep at night like that :(

you best give them a call, I know for a fact no one in NA as of now offers a tune for my car (should say tuning software) :( unless I am willing to have them play around with trial and error

A 25% loss is not unheard of however on a FWD car, that is pretty high. Also the number you get may vary depending on how well the person calibrates your wheel speed & rpm when its rolling on the dyno to the computer.

from two unrelated sources that dynod a car just like mine bone stock had 230-234whp (14%-16% loss) at peak, so yeah I am hoping the guys at this other dyno just did a shitty job....I hope that on Monday they get me the numbers that I want or I might just throw my credit card at them, and tell em to keep it until I see the number I want Laughing.

25% would be ok for a AWD car...

i recomend dasilva racing in pickering. Depending on where you go you will also get different numbers, i know portable dynos give you really low numbers. Also every cars different, i Seen the exact same stock cobalts dyno from 199whp to 225whp which is a huge difference. Hope you get the numbers you want on monday tho Can someone recommend a good dyno place? 1926791664

I hope so too....I've spend enough money on it this year and the cat is not even one year old.

Did you also consider the power loss due to the auto-tranny?

power loss to auto-tranny in some cases might go up to 20%, but usually its around 15-18%, but as I noted on two separate cases the power loss on this car was about 15%, not 25%.

so....I went there today (EA), a lot of nice cars in there. The dyno operator, did a shit job trying to dyno my 6spd auto...the numbers are so sad, and the power cut off so early that you'd think he was testing a base 2.4 N/A sonata. Also, they failed to mention ahead of time that their software for the timed runs is not working, so I pretty much wasted my morning and $120 on a useless dyno run, and a very pretty graph. one thing lead to another, and I drowned in beer for lunch...
