Tuners for Toys

Post by Nightwingii on Wed Oct 12, 2011 9:31 am

Tuners for Toys

Ok guys so my plan for a Le mans race to generate publicity didn't work. As the location didn't see the possible attraction it could bring.

With that said and as most of you know a bit about me. I don't give up. It's too late to schedule a race event or the like. But I believe we can gather toys for those less fortunate without an event.

It will be requested that those who donate toys leave a name and contact taped to the new unwrapped toy so I may be able to generate possible give-a-ways from our vendors and sponsors and those outside that wish to assist us in this endeavour.

We are looking for possible drop off locations in and around the GTA and a few people willing to do pick up at the locations I can't get to.

This project will end around the second week of December in order to get these toys to the children who we once where before we got into the bigger toys.

This will create huge publicity towards TTS although you probably won't see most of it.

No one has ever done this in the GTA. TTS will once again be the first.

I say we can gather at least 500 toys. With all our work places, friends, families and of course the tuner world. I don't see this as an issue.

I will be working on a poster that will be a PDF for you to print and post at your work site if you're able to do so. All you will need is a box and a safe place to place them until I gather them from you.

Who thinks they can gather toys at their work place. Who knows of locations for drop offs. Who may be able to get donations for give-a-ways.

Any suggestions, comments or concerns please feel free to post. This will be a learning experience as is always is with us and these types of things but I know we always do better each time.

Thanks

J

I'm gonna need a lot more support from TTS crew to get this running.

If I don't I will shelve this until next year and try again. No biggie.

As most of you know I work on many things and I have to cap it somewhere in order to ensure I have enough time for TTS stuff and personal stuff as well.

We all do a lot for TTS and personal stuff so I'm not too worried if this doesn't go this year. But it would be nice to try.

Great ok lets go forward then.

We need at least 4 spots for drop off locations. North/South/East and West

Was thinking of using our sponsors MCM Nextmod etc.

Suggestions?

Also I will work on the mini poster. Unless anyone can come up with one sooner.

Toys and gift baskets for male and females aged 0-16

Facebook site (to follow) still gotta set up the group.

Some cool pics etc of one or more of our rides. And our site.

Anythings else you guys can think of? I wanna get this started by the end of next week. I also need another lead. Any volenteers

Just a quick update.

We are gonna launch this starting Oct 31-Nov1. This will give 6 weeks to powerhouse. But feel free to verbally promote until then.

C17 Media is printing out the mini posters free of charge and they will be ready for pick up ready to start that week. Once we get it designed. I have also asked them to assist us in getting the word out to the drop off location etc once we roll.

Let me know how I can help, and Ill do whatever I can.

The workplace and community thing wont work for me because we (work & community) donate heavily to the United Way and other charities (food, toys etc.) that have been established in the region for a while now.

But like I said, anything else I can do let me know, its a great initiative JP and Id like to contribute.

I'l have a chat with him as to if we always do it for united way or if they'd be interested in letting us do it for Tuners for Toys. i guess just msg you JP if i need more info?

Yeah msg me. Thanks

Facebook group was created and invite will go out tonight.

Also the formal request went out to businesses yesterday for requests to be drop off spots. Still waiting to hear back on any of them.

The poster will be done later today and will be printed and ready by next week for the launch of Oct31/Nov 1. Just have to arrange for a pick up.

Sweet already!!! Gotta like that. Hold on to them for now. I will arrange for collection or another option is a drop off location once I get these sorted out.

Just a friendly reminder they must be new unopened toys. And we are launching this the first week of November but feel free to start collecting now.

GPK will be one location for drop offs

Don't forget to join the Facebook group and spread the word.

We are launching Nov 1st if all goes well. Gives us 6 weeks.

This is all of ours. TTS charities etc are designed to help the community and show what we are about at the same time. So keep taking pride in these types of things.

Thanks
