Re: Yuriy's 'Blue Devil'; mustang gt
ok....
Peeling off plasti dip from 32 pieces; not fun.
Realizing how many man hours to sand/scuff the chrome from every piece; even less fun.
Solution, someone plasti dip em for me; I'll supply the plasti dip, and I'll take you out for food and booze.
Any volunteers?

Re: Yuriy's 'Blue Devil'; mustang gt
ok....its done.
they wrapped my roof in carbon fiber, black vinyl on shark fin, and all chrome other then my door handles. looks pretty sexy. they where also cool with putting my new grill in for me, debadging my rear logos, and black plasti dip my read 'H' logo.
for the roof they took off all the black plastic molding (around the roof) so that they can tuck it all in, and took my shark fin off for the wrap. took about 3-4 hours.
I only have cellphone picks of my car so I don't wanna upload them here, but you can see them on my FB page, just look up 'Yuriy' in TTS group and add me.
For the real kicker....I took my car to the dealer today, because it was 'sqiucking' in the rear left suspension when you rocked/pushed on the car. They convinced me that it was the hand break, and that it was part of maintenance not warranty work (fair enough).
To get to the hand break line and such on my car you gotta unbolt the rear control arms and some other things....away when they unbolted the rear left control arm...a piece of it broke off. Control arm being a SINGLE forged piece of steel alloy, so yeah happy times.
Lucky (really???) for me Hyundai had only one left in stock....its going to be shipped on Tuesday, until then I am rocking the Elantra Touring and no they didn't give me the red one again.
To be fair this is really the first actual warrant work, as before it was the cold weather + mods making my car go crazy.

Re: Yuriy's 'Blue Devil'; mustang gt
I went to restyleit.ca, they also offered a discount for club members, I pmed our hard working sponsor corespondent about that already
when I went there he was just finishing off a CTS coupe in flat purple (full car wrap) and everything else blacked out...looked so hot.
I guess I'll upload my cellphone pics.

I'll have good pics after I get my car back from the dealer, unless you want some hd pics of a blue Elantra Touring with hub caps.

They charged me $600 I gave him an extra $40 (he didn't ask for it) for putting on my new grill, debadgeing the rear, and plasti dip the rear 'H' logo. For reference (not bashing them), graphiti gave me a rough quote of $1000, no grill swapping, no debadging, and wanted my car for a whole day.

no idea, just give him a call. His name is Andre #416-564-9411, his work hours are very flexible. Just tell him that Yuriy referred you, and you are from the same club, maybe he can cut you some slack.BrianV wrote:Yuriy wrote:wait a little, if the become one of our vendors he is going to give you a better price.

Re: Yuriy's 'Blue Devil'; mustang gt
Tomorrow I am going to Dragonwerks.ca, for a dyno run, 0-60, and 1/4 sprint. I decided to stick to mustang dynos, simply because its a pain to jump dynos, and shops when you want to get 0-60, and 1/4 mile times. its going to be my base stock runs. I am only really interested in the timed runs, as the stock hp numbers are meaningless until I put my mods on and see the gains, even then I'd be more interested in the time difference. End of the day its how fast you can go from point A to point B, regardless of what you car puts down.

Re: Yuriy's 'Blue Devil'; mustang gt
so....all runs done on Mustang Dyno, if you need to know the difference between it and DynoJet, google it (mustang dyno vs dynojet) good explanation.
No mods, base line hp 205, torque 218.
Timed runs are a no go again, they are about 1.5s off the actual real life run tests. Reason being some info on my car is not currently in the database, so we used data from a similar car. When we did the timed runs, the car though it was skating on ice and permanently turned on traction control (limiting low end power), the traction control light came off once the car rolled of the dyno, and the computer realized it was on solid ground.
Think I am done with trying to do timed runs on a dyno .
Since I am no longer doing them (time runs) I am going to migrate back to the shop that's like 5min away from me as apposed to 55min away (they use dynojet), means I am going to have to run the car again, numbers on dynojet going to be about 10% higher, then mustang dyno.)
I have a bluetooth obd2 reader that's synced to my torque app on my phone, the readout out from that for hp, and torque just about matches the dyno run, I've been using it to do 0-60 runs on some flatish country roads, lots of salts and sand really kills the start off :(
awany my times range from 5.8s - 6.55s, most of the times are 6.3s-6.5s.
Can't wait til the tracks open up again.
People claim that they consistently get high 5s 0-60, but I don't buy it as of yet, maybe on a drag street on a nice warm day.
