Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
Hey guys,
Just wondering what the best car alarm brands you find are best and what remote car starters you guys favor. I need to get both on my 2012 Elantra - just want to hear what you guys think.
Thanks

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
I'm not too sure which is best. I haven't used either in a while or at all in my cars. But I know I would prefere one that has both in one. I woudl hate to have two remotes on my key chain.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
is that u in the picture?
wait back on topic... honestly no joke, this is the best combo i've seen thus far
http://www.compustar.com/products/pro/RF-P2W901-SS.html
by far hands down the best thing ever, u can find them on sale for at least 260 for the unit i've seen, "audio heaven" usually have it the cheapest during shows and what not
umm another good one is the new "viper smart start"
only becasue its got gps and u can control ur car from anywhere in the world aslong as ur phone has cell reception for the data, this ones a more hefty price tho
honestly, if u care dont buy a shitty 50$ combo and have it installed for 25$, alarms need to be proper and u should really buy the best if u wanna protect ur investment

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
Yes, That's me. Imma n00b. Yuriy brought me here
And I heard Viper is good. Trust me, I go big or not at all... I'd rather spend the money and get it done right.
Yuriy, yes it does but if you get an aftermarket alarm as well it can also bring your insurance down more. And I want a sensitive alarm. My bro's prelude got smashed last summer. This time were installing cameras around my place and I'm putting a better alarm on my ride. Not taking chances.
One remote for both would be ideal...

I would have to say go with the Viper. Their systems are top notch and you can't really go wrong with them.
Also make sure you don't get a hack job installation, because that can be a wiring nightmare in the future trust me
Spend the money and get a reputable installer to put it in.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
Yes that is true, and that also goes for any sort of mods such as an intake can void your warranty.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
yea but simple shit like the intake can be removed for warranty work and noone would know, but damn that sucks that u have warranty. your basically SOL till ur warranty is up, otherwise ur gunna pay over a g just to have it installed at the dealer

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
thats the first ive ever heard someone say sucks to have warranty. I'm glad I have it. I
m pretty sure I just need to pay double to have everything done to it. like to install the two in one alarm and car starter is like 7 bills or something ridiculous.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
i see it as a waste because you buy a car, and if ur into heavily modifying your cars such as most of us on here, you cant do anything. For like the first 4 years u just have to drive it unless u pay like 17x more then regular normal price to have anything done. sure its good if ur motor or tranny go, but i would hate to think like that. thats really no fun
but lets not get off topic here

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
Allie, I've had to deal with warranty with my car modded (charge pipe/bov, intake, turbo back) they don't really care to some degree, but if they can't solve the problem (my case) they tell you remove it or they won't do any more work on it. Mods per-say do not void warranties, only the warranty of the replaces part or any damage done by the mods. Most places want your business and won't fuck you over that easily.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
Dealerships do. Especially if they're the ones paying for it. He specifically told me if i don't go through one of there 'approved' audio places, all electrical will be voided. I don't want to coid my electrical..eff that. So Now I just hav eto go through all their expensive places despite knowing like 8 different places with some guys I know that would've done it cheap for me if not free cause I grew up with them... it's B.S
but whatevs. No choice..

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
then that dealer is full of shit, and wants a piece of of what you are paying. dealers don't pay for warranty work (at least Hyundai), they invoice it to Corporate Hyundai of Canada. However Hyundai can deny the dealer warranty work, that's why on big repairs like mine they had to ask Hyundai of Canada before they did all the work on my car...although after like fifty million visits Hyundai told my dealer they won't approve any more warranty while the mods are on.
But he was right to tell you that it will void the electrical, not all of it though. its always a gamble, but I haven't heard of any electrical problems with Hyundai, only thing I can see happening is incompetence by the installer.

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
How about motion censors? I'm trying to find a good motion detector/recorder for my car. Would be nice if it had 360 view. My bro's prelude had its window smashed last summer in our driveway. I'd like to see whoever tries messing with my car

Re: Best Alarm/Best Remote Car Starter
you can see who does that before they actually do, or put two cameras, one hidden and one visible.

You should get one of those motion sensing flood lights for your driveway too.
