Does anyone know of products / methods / even shops that can remove the nasty oil stain residues in the engine bay after it has been rust proofed?

I used Simple Green to get mine cleaned up. It took a lot of hours and attention to detail. I used a tooth brush for the small spaces. Be careful you don't cut your fingers/hands on the inside of the hood (I learned that the hard way lol)

go to the nearset dodge dealership...(i know, dodge?) yes, DODGE. go to parts, ask for a couple cans of mopar engine shampoo. spray on, let sit for 5-10 mins, high pressure wash off, repeat if necessary. stuff owns all. when i was a detailer, we used it at dodge, suzuki, automax, and MERCEDES BENZ!

I do this every year, engine bay gets nasty over the winter and the rust proof absorbs all dirt. I use GUNK ENGINE CLEANER...cover everything that matters and spray the can. Rinse off and spot clean with a toothbrush using SIMPLE GREEN!

is it better to do before winter or after ? i assume after winter so that you have some rust proof in the engine bay during winter?
