Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
Sweet!!
2 layers of yellow? Like two layers of the vinyl? I wouldn't mind it looking a bit more yellow in the daytime, might need to swing by Shinzo for more film.
Got any pics of how that looks?
On another note, I was showing my brother my fogs last night, and the passenger light is significantly brighter than the driver's side ... I figured it was because the EM Mitsu guys put my side mount license plate too low and is blocking some of the fog light ... but even without that, it IS quite a bit brighter.
I made sure not to touch the adjustment screws on either side and was careful with not touching the actual bulbs.
Won't really matter once I put in those blue, yellow, or HIDs in there.

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
looks good, Juice! that looks sick!!!..
now that I'm sick of having HID problems - I thought instead of ordering JROX's drl bypass for $60, I would just buy an A/M fog light set for $100 and extra harnesses so I can switch fogs and low beams..I know it's $40-$50 more but I get to hit 2 birds with one stone (I get fogs and get my HID flicker issue solved)...
my problem would be installing the A/M fogs! lmao

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
Do you need the fog light covers? I saw a guide somewhere on installing aftermarket fogs ... its a good amount of work.

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
I think the whole kit includes the covers..
yeah it's a lotta work and I dont want to poke a hole thru they drywall/ whatever it's called..if I can find a place where I can slip it in (like between the door or something) that'd be great..

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
There's a place you can poke the wire through without drilling/cutting.

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
When I was trying to wire LED washer jets in the Camry, I just poked the wires through a rubber grommet that was already there ... I can't remember what it was for, but required zero drilling/cutting. Too bad I had no idea what I was doing and didn't end up connecting the wires to anything.

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
Update: Picked up a new battery booster pack so I can test the bulbs. Tried it out on some scrap ones I had laying around, working well.

Re: Juice's HID Retrofit Project
Update: HID fogs installed! Thanks G!
At first I couldnt' figure out how to connect them properly, lol ... but after some research figured it out ... then I thought they were too green and I'd totally get pulled over, but once they warm up they're pretty cool. Yellow with a slight tinge of green.
PICS!
Passenger: HID vs Driver: Halogen
Both HIDs installed:
After driving around for a while to let them warm up:

Off topic slightly:
I was looking for a small HD camera (. for all the recording that this season will have .) and I found a camera that had an odd setting..
(that's not my hand)
So.. I think this camera can photographically remove your Chinese part...
.. I think.
