Actually forgot I made this way back when and I figured I might as well post it here in case anyone wanted to do the same. The how-to is specifically for the lancer, but I would assume that it would be similar for other cars once you find the right plug.
*Note: I've since moved my LED strips back farther so you can't actually see them when looking into the car/sitting in (you have to actually look under the dash to see them).
