Are you kidding me? Action and snow are two words that should not be together when it comes to my car. In fact 'snow' shouldn't be in there at all. I've got her stored right now in my garage. That was from the first decent snowfall we had. Waited till everything melted away and drove her over. Man I am definitely not a winter person...

the damage is only partly to the wheel,

something else is also fucked - control arm/axle/essential part I don't know of

I'm calling in one of my free tows from CAA - woot woot membership ftw

I'm hoping it won't cost too much to fix, I need me Christmas

That's pretty much what happened to me in October, minus the snow and black ice and I hit both drivers side rims.
Hopefully the damage isn't that bad, I had to put mine threw insurance since it was $9000 damage.

NightShade ... I snow drifted an '89 Bonneville and my old '93 Spirit (could call it more a FWD power-slide if you want ... ) ... I love sliding in the snow ... but only when I'm TRYING to slide ... otherwise it scares the crap out of me! Not sure I'll be doing much in this ride though. Other cars were older used hand-me-down cars.
On another note, my roommate told me I HAVE to try drifting in his car this winter. I have zero complaints there! Razz

Yeah guys drive extra carefully, I've got 31" tires on my truck (they are A/T, not winters, but still have massive tread) and I'm still drifting a little even in 4x4. Definitely gotta go slow in this weather.

@ zero: Are you sure it's the rim? It looks more like your toe is messed up. You will probably need an alignment if that's the case (and possibly new suspension parts of they got damaged).

On another note, As the tow truck driver from CAA was getting into his cab to leave - the flashlight from my glove box fell out of his pocket.

an Action shot would be nice, but I think it might prove difficult to some people to perform
