Hi Everyone -

Wanted to say hi to TTS, it's been a while. Also wanted to show people my latest projects - flip keys!

It started with me wanting to do them for my car, then I did a write up, and now I am doing some for people. Also experimenting with the carbon fiber vinyl wrap, adds a nice touch. In addition to Hyundai/Kia vehicles - I've done 2 more for other cars. This means that there is no fob and the buttons aren't used, but I guess it's a car person thing - gotta have the toys! So far I've made one for a 300ZX, and the other one for a Suzuki.

A simple project and a neat way to connect to your vehicle - a quick search on online auction sites will let you know if they make one for your car - I think they make them for Lancers and Evos...

Right now I am experimenting with a different case for non-fob cases...

Dave

Very Happy

I think this one will work for you guys with Lancers and maybe some other Mitsus? I'd love to try one for a TTS member...

I would assume that you could get the dealer to program the key for your ride...mind you they'd probably charge you an arm and a leg. If anyone knows how much it would be I may be interested in one of these, always wanted a flip key LOL

You guys are thinking too hard - here are a few pics to save 1000 words...

Maybe our fearless leader would be interested as a guinea pig for the Mitsus? PM me and we'll see who will be the first one! If you want a non-fob flip (just the key, let me know)...

Who is my first person on the forums? lol

You mean the fob or the key? If the key has an immobilizer chip, might be possible to extract. The key is less important than the chip in this case...

Let us know, hopefully you didn't throw it away!

Thanks, you should at least have an extra key to open the door - it just won't start the car...

Do you have a fob too?

If you want I can turn that one into a flip key for you, we can PM the details. Might as well make it a fun emergency key...

So maybe my specialty will be making them as non-fob flip keys? lol

Seems like many of you guys have the special alarms. It's almost easier, but also harder. In both cases they are fun...

Here's a pic of today of three with filled in button holes and cf vinyl wrapped. One is finished, the other two are waiting for donor keys (sorry, they are already spoken for...)

If only these could pay the bills! Oh well, might as well have fun, eh?

So my buddy picked up the one for his Tiburon, as well as the one for the 300ZX and another one for a Civic - just keys - they look like an army of carbon fiber goodness. lol

I should keep a portfolio of these, shouldn't I? It would be funny to see the evolution of them. I was thinking of custom painting them, but the paint would wear off too easily, I think, not worth the trouble. Bright pink, anyone? hee hee hee
