TTS Members

there has been a few people register lately that just dont seem like legit people , so ill say it like this if people fail to fill in the proper info required when they register , they will be deleted right away no questions asked and will have their registered email account and ip address on file so we can keep track of them if they try again with a different user name , this is to help keep lurkers off here and protect the members and their property . there has been a few of these people deleted within the last few weeks , i will also be adding more required info for new members to fill out to help keep these random people out of tts , if this keeps going on then new members will no longer be allowed to activate their membership and will have to wait until myself or dro determines wether they are legit or not and then will activate them .

when someone fills in their user name as - ddwdew and ride as - ddrjunf , or enters their ride as - a horse , these are the type that will be deleted . we want only those that want to be part of tts here , no lurkers,no randoms , just quality members to help grow this quality fam we call TTS

maybe commin on for the hookups on parts or what not?

so with the recent lurkers and stolen rides , what does everyone think should be profile info when a new user registers that that HAVE to fill in to get access to the forum? right now all that you 100% must enter is your ride , should we add things like real name?email address?how did you find out about tts? etc , im open to any ideas as i want to change it up a bit and avoid more lurkers or people that may be here lookin for a ride to steal

phone number - private so only admins can see
maybe call to verify?
make a drop by to the meet mandatory - get the plates, only TTS Prez keeps it

also...maybe look at newcomers with squinty suspicious eyes...

It's possible that they are search robots. If there is no captcha, they can easily sign up for accounts with garbage info, search all the pages sending them back to the engine they are searching for..

understood most of that, except for the "captcha" part and the: "search all the pages sending them back to the engine they are searching for" part... xD

captcha ... bascially displays an image w/ characters, which you have to enter to verify you're human. programs can't read those so automated search robots can't access sites past those.
the bots search for data for whatever reason ... and collect them for different purposes. sometimes just grabbing emails to send spam, and such.

i agree ive been warned by my boys to keep hood shut and doors locked cause of lurkers looking to jack ur whips for a quick buck and follow u on the way home to propect ur car. YOU NEVER NO especially those who come out once or twice and never again

after a run you should make sure no one followed you
- double back before you enter your own home
- roll up your windows, double checking each window after you get out
- have a remote key lock, check by hand going around your car once (doors, trunk, hood)
- look at all tires, just to see if they have sort of deflated or what not, car people should
be about to spot a difference
- check your body while going around checking door, find new scratches in the morning, someones been around it.

this is what i do everyday after i stop my car in a parking lot that im not familiar
with.

i watch everyone very closly , before during and after meets ,even when im driving if i notice a ride behind me for more then 1 minute , im doin things to see whats up , maybe i smoke too much i duno

so i have had to delete some people recently ,

admins and mods keep on the look out , people that register and dont fill in required info proper like for ride putting a horse or your mom , delete them asap , do not want them around

also any members that are causing any issues at all , i dont care how long they have been on here or not , delete them , i will not have 1 person upset the balance here .

everyone knows from the start we are not about or will not deal with any childish bs from anyone , so if they decide to go that way its no ones fault but their own if they get deleted , i will also block every ip address they have visited the forum from to make sure they can come back on here

i will also be adding more mods for quality control ,with recent exposure we are getting , the idiots are gona come eventualy

mods hve full permission to block/ban/delete anyone that gives them a reason to do so , no questions asked , no second chances , you act like a retard then get the fuck out

i agree but dont at the same time , this is a issue i have been over and over in my head , on one hand , i dont like ppl coming here just to post something for sale , on the other hand , it could give a tts member the chance to see and buy something or sell something that they may not have seen if that person didnt come here ,

im very 50 50 on the min post thing for the for sale forum

why dont u make it a requirement to post who reffered you. that way u can figure out if ppl r legit or not... ppl can also say they recieved a tts card, or they found us online.. but if ppl r refered then they shuld b trusted.

You have to post in the new members section the day you sign up and who you know or how you found out about TTS.
Is there any way to restrict viewing until you have made a few posts???

one thing im going to add is that you HAVE to fill out the year/make/model of your ride

adding more things you have to fill out to register will help the situations

now new members have to fill out year of their ride/make/model/real name / gender / birthday / location

this will get rid of lurkers ( most ) because they will be to lazy to fill all this out

and current members if you edit your profile you will have to fill this out to

What about having one (or any) of the MODs have to approve a new For Sale topic? to make sure its legit and the person posting is legit and its not their only post or something,
