Im not much of a drag strip guy. But it was fun, and i"ll come out again. I am however an autocross racer.

Cone racing has to be experienced to be understood. It's extremely technical. Go to an event and go for a ride along. Then you will understand.

A few years ago a guy with a Honda hybrid was racing. He was pretty quick too. All that electric motor torque low in the rpm's.

Yea, most underpowered cars do well in autocross. torque is be best for auto-x'ng/cone racing.

Ahh. You do get a chance to walk the course before the race. I try to walk it at least twice, three times if I can before i race on it. I admit some courses are harder than others but you get used to it. You can always go for ride alongs with other drivers to get a feel for the track.

Your car will do fine. There are many different classes. Depending on how modded you are, you will most likely be in H Stock. So you would be up againsed other small front wheel drive cars, with very little HP. Older civic's, etc. Once you get a car out on the track it will surprize you how well it will handle. It doesnt matter what your driving. There are no prizes or money to be won. Its all for Fun and bragging rights.

I took my Dad out for a ride along on that rainy day for the first time. He thought we would not race in the rain. His main comment other than he thinks I"m crazy(and he's right) was, he had no Idea that a car would hold the road that well in rain. I guess my point is most people dont know what a car can auctially do untill you push it to its limit. witch can only safely be done on a track.

I cant wait untill the next race.... When is winter over?

Where is this winter race? I'm itching to go racing? I can't find it on the solo forum.

You wouldn't be the only Volvo I've seen on the track.

Sweet ride! Welcome to TTS.

Hmmm about this Autocross stuff.. Something I have been wanting to dabble into this year but I didn't know you could walk the course before you raced, that's a bonus because I tend to forget courses that involve cones.. Razz Sweet.

Went to that Subaru club event today. Its not what I was expecting. It was said to be a winter driving skills course. With some in class time. There where non racers there that needed this time that didnt get it. I wanted it too. I asked to have a pro diver ride along with me to tell me what I could improve on. But he said pretty much nothing.

Now that being said It was still a good time. It was more of a short rally race. My suspension is way too hard for that and I'm far too low. So I did some minor dammage.

This is what my lower brace looks like now.

I wish I had AWD today. Had a very hard time getting traction.

wasn't there a 720 in the course? I saw the race map going out and thought that would be fun to see but I worked all day so didn't get a chance to venture up!

The second one is the video but it's not working for some reason. I'll have to fix it.

There was supposed to be a 720 but they changed it for some reason. Ended up being the two 360's.

I might do some. I will be hitting the autocross circuit hard. It's something my wife and I can do together. I wish she let me borrow the ralliart yesterday. But I would be dead if I damaged it though.
