SRT4's are fast as fack, and sound dope! MS3 are just as quick though.

I would go with whatever is more reliable, I know you can trust Mazda but can you trust dodge?

I've seen some dope looking SRT4's, but my vote goes to the MS3 for looks and reliability.

there's a certain something i do like about the SRT4's. if the reliability for both are the same, i'd go with that.

But i'd definitely go for the more reliable. Safer to mod, easier to keep running, and less on the pocket.

SRT4 is a fun little car, I have no experience with the Mazda but from an SRT stand point I'd say avoid it. I had one, its fun but its really cheaply put together, interior is not pleasing, front windows are power, rear are manual, shifter location, cup holders etc I wasn't crazy about any of it. Yes they make crazy power and fast as hell, but you never hook unless you have great drag radial tires, which defeats its purpose in poor weather. Also gas mileage SUCKS!!!!!!!! It's not fun to work on either, the manifold, turbo etc is all metric bolts which I am ok with because it's all mitsu components but the rest are all standard bolts and nuts, and everything is tight in there. A big pro is having a electronic cut out and flipping a switch to open the downpipe and scare the hell out of people with its sound and flames Twisted Evil All in all that's my .02

ya ive been starting to hear some of the horror stories of the srt4s reliablility. im going for a speed3 now for sure just waiting to see if im gonna get a gen1 or gen2 (depends on price of course) would love a gen2 but cant seem to find one less than 20grand. anyway guys let me know if anyone sees one for sale (preferable low low milage ie less than 100,000kms and has some tasteful mods most importantly suspension, exhaust, intake and if possible a front mount intercooler) not gonna have the cash flow to upgrade after i buy it for a while so if i can find one thats got the basic important mods that i listed id be happy for a couple seasons till im done school

ya i prefer the gen1 front bumper over then gen 2 but the stock hood scoop on the gen 2 solves a lot of the heat sink issues. as for talking to G already done Laughing he was my first call

i know you said you were looking for a gen 2, but heres a gen 1:

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2008-Mazda-MAZDASPEED3-Hatchback-W0QQAdIdZ412784671

friend of a good friend of mine selling this car. owner is mechanic by trade, so i think its safe to say its been taken care of. As far as i know, he's selling so he can buy a gen 2 speed3.

Its going for pretty cheap (quick sale), but thats all i know of the car and owner. couldnt hurt to check it out

The mazda's diffidently look nicer then the SRT4 ( you are talking about the car right cause they make the SUV thing as well ) the mazdas are for sure more reliable and you will have less issues but then again when you mod a car what one does not have issues. The srt4 you will find a shit tone more mods for the car and they are cheap as F**K which is a huge plus. you can also make the srt's look soooo sexy first mod needs to be coils and lower that ass! I personalty hate the way it looks stock.

What I would go and get on their forms and read up on both of them and see what you find out.
