Rally for the Cure aug 28th
Hello all, myself and a few others have been involved in a charitable foundation, i know it is short notice for some but we are hosting the foundations 2nd annual Rally for the cure at Buttonville airport in Markham on august 28th.
A little about the rally and the foundation. At the age of 19 myself and another member of tts (bubz) lost our best friend, Reid Pernica,to a rare for of cancer called Ewing's sarcoma. Upon further study we found that very little research was being done for this form of cancer which usually targets young adults. Thus his family, with the help of friends started the Ewing's cancer foundation of canada. Since 2009 we have had a few fundraisers and raised roughly 35000$ for Ewing's sarcoma research. On to the rally, what happens is, after paying registration fee of 100 dollars per VEHICLE which must have a driver and passanger, so 50 a person which includes bbq and entertainment, cars meet at Bayview secondary school at Bayview and major Mackenzie and follows the prearranges ALL PAVED route(as some of the fancy cars complained about last time). Final check point is buttonville airport where a BBQ and entertainment in a hanger has been aranged. In addition to automotive enthusiast that attended last year, including a ford gt, a Ferrari's f350 etc, there is also the aviation aspect to the rally. Pilots take off from multiple airports and do a similar rally just with airplanes (and maybe a helicopter this year) and end at buttonville as well. Im not going to lie to you guys there are alot of older people who have a fair bit of spare money for charity, they mostly do the air rally. Because of this the entertainment is a little out of most of our taste, there is a big BUT coming don't worry. But if this is not your scene you are more than welcome to hang by the cars in our PRIVATE parking lot aka no police interuprions, until the late entertainment starts. What's that you ask? Well, basicly we got the hanger for another few hour after the initial charity auction and dinner etc for tts members(or any automotive/aircraft participants that wish to stay) and a DJ for the last remaining hours of the night. The event is august 28th and check out the website below for further details and times. We do have a number of very nice cars from outside tts coming so there is a show aspect to it and a few chosen cars can be put on display on the ramp where there is also very nice jets on display. Keep in mind this is an active airport so there are many reprocussions should you decide to **** around AT ALL. Zero tollerance for horse play or violating the sectioned off areas. York regional helicopter flies regularly from the hanger area so there are active cops on premisis. Given that there is active airplanes moving any messing around or intollerable behaviour will result in being escorted out by the R.C.M.P.!! We organizing this for tts, have put our necks out for you guys to have a good time, all we ask is you be sensible and use common sense. Sorry for the rant i just can't stress the importance of this enough.
Now that's all out of the way we just want you guys to come support a good cause and have a great time and of course show off your rides. If you require more info the website for the rally is www.rallyforthecure.ca and there is a link there for the foundation website as well should you wantnmore info on the foundation. Or contact bubz or me at anytime. Donations are always welcome and we hope to see you there.

Re: Rally for the Cure aug 28th
Hello all. Sorry been away for a bit.
As it stands we don't have enough people to really make forking out for the dj worth it. Thus, as far as the dj and after party are concerned they are off. Not to say don't come out if you can, as we still have the hanger after the event for a while, so come out to armadale parking lot or for the rally take some group shots at the airport as we have a couple different aircraft on static display. There is food also for sale from 1pm till 5 pm and silent auction till 6pm, just keep in mind it is charity so if you want to toss a few dollars for donations it would be appriciated. If you want food or auction come for this if not we can meet at 152-180 renfrew Dr markham when ever, we have the hanger till 10ish and the events in the hanger are done around 7pmand then our rally volenteers have clean up. You should see a bunch of cars in the north end of the lot( it is a big parking lot)
Same kind of rules for the regular meets, no burnouts rediculous music etc. Just be smart, not that you need to be told just have to say it.
Thanks guys.
