Re: Black Friday
Same thing happened to me on my old Dodge, cruising into work work late on early Saturday morning on the QEW, hit the gas ... car struggles to gain rpm, then heard a bang, almost like a pop, then rpms started dropping rapidly ... dropped into neutral (it was an auto), and coasted off the highway, didn't make it into the parking lot at a gas station just off the exit, made some people unhappy when i got her started again and rolled into the parking lot leaving a trail of white smoke. 390k kms, blew a cylinder, bye bye car. :(
You can run out of gas, but NEVER run out of oil!!
I say if you keep it ... since it's a fresh engine going in ... why not boost it while you're at it? hehe

Re: Black Friday
i couldnt belive it. funny thing is i went to a full service petro the other day, dude asked me if i wanted him to check my oil, i said no as i was more concerned bout him slamming my hood down!
i wanna keep it to, not to many around, esp that look like mine but super depressing.
u made me feel better by knowin im not the 1st one who ran outta oil.. had no idea the damage it could cause, well i guess i shoulda known but damm... this is quite the dent before chistmas i tell ya.
i didnt have any white smoke but this shit was knockin like a bitch.
boost it?! im more concerned bout it being able to handle the current power it has!
no oil light either is the real concern. if this ish aint gonna tell me when theres something wrong i aint no mechanic, ford doesent service my car. whos gon tell me.
lesson learend.. check yo oil or have those gas station dudes do it 4 ya.

Re: Black Friday
sorry to hear. If you like the car I say drop the engine in it, if you want to move onto something else then by all means.
I check my oil level everytime I fuel up, an excellent habit gained from owning rotaries

Re: Black Friday
i would drop a better engine if your body is in good shape. may be a v6 if you currently have a 4-cyl.
sorry to hear that regardless. It should have popped up the oil light though....weird how it didn't.....

Re: Black Friday
As a fellow Fusion owner I'm inclined to say sell it. But on the other hand its been a great winter car for me. As well with mine i noticed a serious depletion of oil in the engine. kept track of it for 3 months cause it didnt seem so serious and after inspection turned out to be a bad valve cover gasket. Funny story about this; took it to ford knowing well whet the problem was, just wanted to see the stealership at work, and the service rep (what do they know) TOLD ME ''GOING THROUGH A QT OF OIL IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR''! HAHAHAHA. ne who, easy enough fix. if you decide to keep it and do some engine mods let me know how the pan out. In the market for a g35 at the moment. Just havenbt decided on keeping the Fusion or not. Leaning twords not.

Re: Black Friday
ahahahah! its all good. since the engine swap i took it to mr lube for a oil change buddy told me my transmission fluid was blacker than me so i guess i gotta go get that done next too. thank god, theres stlll fluid in there. dirty fluid is better than no fluid at all. dont sell it, I need your support!! other than some cold air up in there and magnaflow cat back havent touched anything else. still paying for the engine! 1600 later no issues tho. runnin pretty nice. i went a while without changing the oil before definatly wont make that mistake again. you would swear i just started driving but this is my 3rd car and no car i have ever drove burns oil like this bitch.

Re: Black Friday
My mazda burnt more. But that was my stupidity more than anything. Aside my gasket (stopped burning so much oil) I've had few issue. Cluth tooth broke of the stock and was pushed through the trans block so I got a new one under warranty

Re: Black Friday
Hows the magnaflow sound? Been toying with that for a while, but started looking at the v6 dual system. Saw it on a merc milan i4 (exact same car just fancy wood grain and stickers) and it sounded rather mean for being on such a small motor.
