My Car Died :(

so as much as i would like to go the meets, my car ended up dead on wednesday. i was heading to school after work on the 401, and suddenly i smelt something wierd, and i looked at my temp gauge and it was PAST the red zone and was in the 'H' i was like wtf?!?! i began to pull over immdeiatly onto the shoulder and then *bang* my car started to make a loud ass banging noise and after i finally got near the shoulder i shut my car off and rolled onto the shoulder.
all this smoke started goin everywhere so i waited a bit and checked under the hood. my coolant and everything else seemed fine. plus i had an oil change about 2000 km ago using royal purple, n my oil level was fine on Sunday cuz i check often. i had it towed to my mechanic (a guy i rlly trust) and he said that it seemed like radiator was leaking alot :s and thats when checked it out and said that the engine is fucked and theres no way ima spend the amount of money needed to fix it, so im gnna try and save up for a new car in spring..
so now im car-less, driving around in a dodge caravan

any ideas on what car i should look into? something affordable too cuz im still in college so its hard to save up

Sad to hear that. Any type of preferences? Like do you want to stick with a coupe, or want something different?

sucks to hear man. hopefully you can salvage some money from the good parts, or sell the car as a parts car for some cash to put towards the next car.

theres alot of options out there, but it all depends on your budget and things you MUST have in the new car. post up what kind of things your looking for. im sure you'll get lots of good suggestions you would have never thought of.

Sorry for the late reply I've been busy :p and yea Ive been looking into a 240 specially since one in mint condition with just the stock k motor goes for like 3 grand, (It's hard to find tho )
My.price range is under 5 grand since I'm in school n can only.work so much without interfering with my stuff.
N I'd also.prefer coupe, but I wouldn't mind a 4 door, I just want something nice and comfy until my second semester is done n I start working.

selling my civic for $2500 as-is... ijs. I wanna get a p71, shhh don't tell nobody.

and hmm civic? honestly i know i rlly need a car when i get back to canada by january, but im not a big fan of civics, let alone hondas. nothing against the big H, just not too much of a fan lool

it sounds like you spun a bearing...which in most cases is the result of poor oiling. Whatever you decide to buy please buy top model so your not scrounging to try convert everything at a later date.

thats what one of my buddies said probably happened. fml, this shit sucks. and i took care of her, but idk man. next cars gnna be a diff case if i end up gettin something im gnna wanna rlly keep.

Problem is everyone likes to go fast...as much as we dont endorse street racing everyone has done it at some point or another. Going rate for a fast car on the street is 400hp. Factory top models all contain more power than that as well. The day the DSM, Nissan, Honda, Toyota tuner with minor mods got to embaress the corvette's and stangs are slowly fading. We as tuners need to do more to keep the playing field equal and stand a chance.

dunno bout u but the dsm is still kicking it although i think im past the point of minor mods.

a dsm, old toyota or a 240 would be awesome

that 86 corolla I had, had 280 000 on the motor... and as juice can confirm my statement - it flew (changed my opinion on high km motors)

till then, im lookin at a couple of 240's i found, but still not sure if theyre as good as they claim to be, or if they'll still have it by the time i get back n have the money

are you a member of son240sx? There's a bunch of really good guys on there who probably knows someone looking to get rid of one ... And prices are fair as well!
