Good exhaust shop GTA Empty Good exhaust shop GTA

Post by cpeba Mon Feb 06, 2012 6:34 pm

As the tittle states, I'm looking for a good exhaust shop in the GTA. I have an Elevate DP that needs to be installed and/maybe (if the price is right) have a custom 3" exhaust made. I have tried hotrodscotts - www.hotrodscotts.com but they could only do 2.5" CBE for $800 + DP install Noyzboyz - www.noyzboyz.com was even worse, wanted $1000 for everything 2.5" CBE Quick muffler - www.quickmuffler.com was the best, they said they could 3" but $900 + DP install.

I have heard good things about GT Custom Exhaust in Pickering through this forum in the vendor section. I have also heard good things about JPG Exhaust, 905-339-0317 - 287 Speers Oakville (http://www.jpgexhaust.com/), and Zorro Muffler in Mississauga. Do you ladies/gents recommend any other exhaust shops?

I can order the Borla CBE for $665 with shipping through amazon, but would like to have a full 3" system. That would be a last resort as i am on a tight budget and don't want to spend too much.... may even head to Buffalo as i heard it can be way cheaper there!! any help would be appreciated. Just looking for a well fabricated exhaust as i am planning to keep my Volvo C30 for a long time. I am planning on having this done at the end of this month when my next paycheck arrives.

Big up for GT. Installed my exhaust perfect first time. Basically walked in and had it installed within the hour. Super friendly and knowledgeable guys.

Told my brother to go there ... he didn't. Paid like $150 for install, hanger came loose, Told him to go to GT again, he went back to same place as before, paid another $100 to fix, it's rattling again. Told him to go to GT again ... we'll see what he does.

GT are good people, I had them chop up part of my turbo back, and raise it up closer to the body, charged me little for the amount of man hours it took em to do it. Came back next morning, cuz there was a rattle from a hanger, fixed it in 15min at no charge.

Thanks, i will check out GT once midterms are done. Sounds like it's the place to go too, i'm tired of wasting my time with exhaust shops trying to rip me off Laughing. I'm at DVP/Don mills so its still quite the drive but i'll probably head over during reading week.

I went there twice ... once for exhaust install, once for cat install ... I'm at Spadina/Gardiner. I know how you feel about the trip, but it's worth it.
Warning: GT is around the back of the unit, the ground there is .... less than stellar. Razz

Just got back from GT custom exhaust. Pretty much the same deal as elsewhere... for the 3" CBE with DP install. I was expecting better pricing TBH especially after hearing the reviews on the forum.

I am curious to hear their "camaro" style muffler (GT house brand) as that's the muffler they quoted me, while the other shops suggested Borla/magnaflow.

All in all I'm a little dissapointed, may just do the DP install and leave it at that for now and keep hunting...

Anyone hear of D&D near Warden and Eglington, the place is local and has 15% off for students.....

Can't cheap out on an exhaust install. I went to noyzboyz, paid a little more probably but the quality is amazing.

Its worth it to shell out the extra little bit and get it done the first time at a shop that has a good reputation like GT

Post by cpeba Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:05 pm

Just came back from GT custom exhaust, they installed my downpipe (cheapest quote) for me this morning. Wanted $850 for a 3" mandrel bent custom exhaust with camaro style muffler and that just seemed too high, Zorro Muffler quote me $800-850.... Guess that's the going rate, but hard to digest considering I can get the Borla system for $665 (http://www.amazon.com/Borla-140366-C...0106365&sr=8-1).

Going to have to figure this out by spring... custom or Borla

On a positive note they mentioned they do custom intercoolers with Treadstone cores!!! And on top of that they can do custom piping. Just sad to know i will eventually spend much more money there, but a great find nonetheless.

Took a look at that one. You have to include US/Can converstion, shipping, brokage, and taxes on top of that.

Taxes alone brings you to $751.45 plus install. Just checked shipping alone is around $77 at $7.99 plus $1.99 per pount at 39 lbs. If I'm doing that right.

So unfortunatly it might bring you closer to the $800-$850 or actually over after install.

Modding cars isn't cheap. Trust me I know.

I have a friend in Buffalo who i could ship it to (sent my DP, skidplate, tires to her ) so shipping would be free and no tax! I'd just drive up and pick it up/install it over there. Just a hassle though as she is getiing a little pissed off....but still an option to save money.

The other idea was to get a Borla 40474 muffler/4" double walled angled tips and have them just do the piping to cut down on costs. Anyone know where i can source the Borla muffler for less than $269 ( http://www.wickednicky.com/borla-muffler-pro-xs-transverse.html ) or in Canada for under $300?

Needless to say i'm very happy with the DP install and will start saving up for the exhaust, its a work in progress Laughing.

Picked up a 3" Miltek Midpipe for cheap ($100 http://www.c30world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16684). Unfortunately i have to wait until late April (Conquer the Dragon C30 meet) to get it, but no shipping and it will allow me to source tips (Borla 20156) by then.

Should have my custom 3" mandrel bent exhaust installed and completed by May, this way i can make payments towards debt in the mean time Laughing, love the student life!
