Thats unreal! You don't need a car alarm, you need trip wires and bombs! I'll of course keep my eyes peeled for you. That really sucks! When/where did this get scooped?!

Bridlewood mall, Zellers parking lot (Finch Ave and Warden intersection). Just got back, went to the spot and waited there in the civic for an hour-ish,

there was a cop there that left when I pulled up and parked o_O

apparently there is no such thing as a master key...

Hello,

I guess master key must be defined here. There is no such thing as a master key for a vehicle, like that you would think of for factories, apartments etc.

This lock in your truck is very sloppy and somewhere on my site http://www.autotheftexpert.com I even show a key cut for the lock and one that has comb like teeth in which both keys work with no problem.

There is no one out there good enough to determine if your vehicle was or was not force entered. Unless they have a very special tool like I have. A Crystal Ball!! LOL That is like proving a double negative.

Yes, one can state that there is evidence of forced entry, however if someone states in a so-called "forensic" report there is no forced entry, that cannot be factually proven. There are slim jims, wood wedges, air wedges and a host of break in tools.
Depending on the experience of a thief, there may or may not be tell-tale damage.

You lock your keys in your car. You dispatch a locksmith. He unlocks your car, but cannot do damage or you will sue him. The next day he is examining a reported stolen car for an insurance company and states he observed no signs of forced entry.

I commonly see so-called expert reports for the insurance company when examining a reported stolen car that there was no signs of forced entry. The problem with this is one very important fact seems to be always left out either by the reporting cop at the recovery site, or the expert. The car is UNLOCKED at the time of recovery and at the time of the exam. Can anyone explain that?

The fact this vehicle had an alarm does not by itself tell me anything. I would have to see the installation. If the alarm valet (shut off) switch is mounted in plain view, once the ignition is in the ON position, the switch gets flipped and that is the end of all alarm features. If you have starter disabled, that would now be off as well.

In your case, the remote start has no meaning because this vehicle does not have a transponder to be bypassed.

The cheesey ignition lock in the Ram commonly wore to the point it could be operated without a key at all doing no damage to the lock. These locks were commonly force rotated with a screwdriver as well, and no obvious damage would be seen on the exterior.

The last 2001 Dodge Ram case I testified in showing 4 keys for a brand new lock, in which only one was the "proper" key, yielded a $375,000 verdict for the insured in California (Sidhu v. Farmers).

The expert for the insurance company concluded the vehicle was last operated with a key of the proper type. My question at trial was: The proper key or the correct key? The jury did not believe the insurance expert locksmith.

If your claim is being denied, you need to talk to me and my personal email is robo14@aol.com

I've been thinking it might be someone copying your keys. I've heard of cars getting stolen but not from the same guy within two years. I lived in your area so I can't say that ita rare thing but from the same guy naaa.

Just my thoughts.

But serious glad you got it back!!!
