Re: 20 inch rims. NEED INPUTTTT
big wheels = big mass = higher unsprung weight = slower acceleration and less handling ability.
Wide tyres = rolling resistance = power output soak
wide tyres = decreased PSI at contact patch = increased potential for hydroplaning and colder tyres = less grip
maybe I'm just too function over form just putting it out there to consider though..

excellent points you mention there. but at the same time, if tires are operating under optimal conditions, wider tires can provide improved grip

Only if the tyres heat range is optimized..
but.. wider tyres cause a greater scrub angle offset in corners which slows down the turn as well the width will, as mentioned, cause greater resistance, ( friction), for a given speed.. trade offs for the most part, if you have track day specific wheels then never mind, except for the a few of the points everything else is geared to higher speeds.

hmm if i chip my car.. then the rims will affect the performance.. kinda contradicts itself there.. should i just stick with 19s? perhaps a different set of 19s? it will be ALOT cheaper too.

Re: 20 inch rims. NEED INPUTTTT
the difference in performance is not as great as one would imagine.
going from 19 to 20 isn't going to slow your car down by that much (if even noticeable at all). Especially since you are already running on 19".
Unless you go for the light weight performance rims (e.g. RAYS) then you can benefit from having lower unsprung weight, but otherwise it is not a cause for concern.

But...Your car is more luxury than anything. And I know your not going to be tracking alot, so what's the point in getting smaller rims to get from one stop light to another .XXX seconds quicker? Baller cars deserve baller rims! And Trucks/Big-bodied cars look foolish with small rims, remember how small "18's aftermarket rims looked on the lancers and that was the stock size...
