I think he was trying to present it as a sleeper, and you baited him out.

Meh... It really loses it's punch after a long road trip from the tuner to home. :(

Thanks man. I'm trying to keep it as clean (stock) as possible to stay out of the popo radar... which is one of the reasons i went with the hatch in the first place.

I was under the idea that the STI was only available in the hatch.. I'm down with the basic Impreza, and that's good for most of my driving needs (. and keeps insurance down .)

I'd say that it looks stock to me.. I thought it was another hatch Impreza, didn't notice the STI in the pic until I went looking at it closer.. I have to say that I prefer the look of the hood with the hood scoop. But when I'm lacking power to that degree.. LOL I'll take all the looks I can get =)

Haha... There were many cars in the same price range that i could have found myself in, back when i was shopping for a car. Namely the Evo, 135i, TT-S, and even some gently used cars like 07STis, e46M3s, 996 911s, Caymans...

The 09STi was the... most well behaved looking of the bunch... + The hatch is just oh so practical!

As per the scoop... It's a personal choice, i personally hated the scoop... oh and the 30*+ temp drop for my coolant influenced my decision too.

im not much of a darg person either , my 1/4 mile times are rather pathetic , i jus do it cuz its 20$ and its fun to see what cars you can beat/can beat you in the 1/4 , which in my case most will beat me in the 1/4....................for now
