How low do I go? Empty How low do I go?

Post by hdrasta Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:55 pm

I'm getting my coil overs installed tomorrow and I need to know how low everyone with pro kits or sport kits are so I can base how low I go with the coils. keep in mind that its a DD and I'm still on stock rims and wheels... hint hint G Razz

I think the sport kit is like .9 in the front and 1.2 in the back and the pro kit is 1.2 in the front and 1.9 in the back?
Let me know if I'm off. I need it as a base to figure out how low to go.

P.S. whoever else is lowered let me know that the measurements are on your cars too

^Then you can raise it back up ;)

I say 1.9 Front and 1.4 rear, that's what I would've ran on my lancer if I had coils. Or even LOWA! afro

I can get em, just takes two weeks to get em in stock. Can't remember the price though, I think it was $60. I can confirm if necessary, let me know.

That's not a problem, the issue is the alignment. If you get it done now, you'd still need to get it done after you install the camber-kit. Those coils don't come with a camber-kit? Are you sure?

The only way to learn is by doing Smile
Ask lots of questions....be there for the install if you can, to learn more about it. If you haven't done so already, do some research on suspension (caster, camber and toe) and get familiar with all of it. I did the same thing in the beginning Smile

I watched the install pretty much from start to finish (done yesterday). asked a lot of questions. asked if it was ok to adjust myself, which they said it was very easy. I've read the instructions like I million times. I'm letting them settle then get the camber adjusted probably tomorrow or monday (weekend if I can).

If you plan on going any lower do it now, because once you adjust your camber/alignment and make any changes ie: lower/raise the suspension it changes the entire suspension geometry. So you'll have to get it re-aligned after adjusting the height, so it's better to set-it to the height you want from now to avoid paying for an alignment multiple times...

tho the height right now it pretty low I might just leave it as it is a DD

^True, some different (larger) rims will probably make it "appear" a lil more lower

i think bigger rims actually increases the ride height

i.e. it raises the car back up
