any tips on installing this stuff? bought some from NextMod and wrapped 2 pieces ... first one was easy, just a strip
wrapped my A-Pillar ... but had problems smoothing it out around one corner ... had to put in a little patch to hide a small cut that was a little too shallow, hehe ... I still have to do the 2nd A-Pillar (ya Ron, did the interior A-Pillar in Di-Noc Carbon Fiber!) Heat definitely helped a TON, but trying to figure out where to cut and how to mold it to the bends was tricky. Haven't put it back in yet, but hopefully it fits in nicely.
Won't have time to do it today, but I'm gonna try to tackle the passenger a-pillar on Thursday or Friday ... should be ready for CSCS on Sunday! Very Happy
I'll have the wrapped pillar on tonight at KC if anyone wants to check it out. Driver's side only ... looks sweet if you don't look for the imperfections, Laughing.
I'll toss up pics later.

With some of the scraps, I also wrapped my iphone case, haha. It was getting pretty beaten up and this stuff has breath new life into it! My roommate also wrapped a pen and we're gonna wrap my grinder and vaporizer with leftover pieces. Razz
I'm debating buying more to wrap my trunk instead of buying a CF trunk. Yes, I like it THAT much!!

After a scare last night about my airbags ... looked it up and I'm safe wrapping the a-pillars. Whew.

Note: SRS label on a-pillar, just like mine.

I knew it wouldn't just explode on you..

Was a little dark, but did look much better considering that everything else is black.. At the photoshoot for the 1 year I want to get photos of everyone's car solo as well as lined up.. Just to get the gallery loaded to the nipples..

Agreed, was pretty freaked out about eating pillar for breakfast done day ... thanks for all the info about Lancers last night. Super insightful! If I had gone to you for my Lancer, I think I would've walked away with an Evo, which I would then live out of because I wouldn't be able to afford rent ... but I'd have an Evo! Very Happy

Knew I'd find it.. Here's them going off..
Side Airbags from side impact

You'd need to get smoked pretty hard to eat pillars for breakfast. At least you'll get hit with good looking pillars =)

I was wondering what happened to yours and G's Lancers I kept hearing about, but didn't really want to ask.

gd stuff! i remember you told me you didnt like the 2-tone pillar/interiors, so gd on ya for finally changing it up. CF wrap is a cool idea, probably no one has done that yet! I'm very eager to see it in person, I would imagine it to look good since that 3M wrap looks more like dry carbon vs the glossy type, so it would just look black from far away till someone gets close and jaws drop.

and when i had my lancer, I also had an accident, hit a snowbank at about 40-50KM and no airbags were deployed

looks sweet. if you dont want it to fold up around the edges, use a heat gun to stretch out the vinyl. will look neater. i like it though. where did u buy the material from again?

I used a hair dryer and a lot of patience. Especially when doing the second pillar. Hardest part was where it curves inwards.

I picked up the vinyl from NextMod during their 1yr Anniversary. $10/sqft
I have a little left over ... was hoping to use it on my laptop but the piece isn't big enough.

it's cool ... available room is tiny ... used to be my room until I moved into the bigger one.
If there was more free available parking, I'd host a bbq for TTS. Maybe some day.

Thought I'd post some pics of how the pillars turned out.
In case someone decides they wish to do it too. Some of it starting to peel back ... I might pop them back out and glue the ends in, got hard wrapping the pillars and eventually I got too tired to do a good trimming job.

Also wrapped a trunk lip (no, not a spoiler)

Gotta wrap the inner b-pillars and c-pillars eventually, as well as possibly painting the ceiling. Not sure how I'm gonna do that yet ...
