i have a dilemma i would like people's opinion on

I have a very informal debate in one of my classes this week. I am on the fence whether I should skip it or not; lets assess the following reasons:

- the debate is not graded
- the debate starts at 8:30AM (wtf)
- topic is not something of any interest to me, nor do i know anything about the topic.
- a graded essay needs to be handed in the week after on the debate topic anyway

now it would seem like a no-brainer, why not skip it? reason are as follows:

- this is a year course, so if I skip this it will make me look bad in class
- TA is hot
- good chance to impress aforementioned hot TA.
