January Jaunt is scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2012

This is a Nighttime Rally. X1000 more tough. Trying to see roads when there are no lights is that more difficult.

I'm pretty much game for this one. Anyone else interested????? See info below.

This is a navigational rally speed doesn't mean your better here. Ask Jmack or myself or check out the No winter maintainace rally thread for our experiance from before.


Entry Fee: $45
Start/Finish: The Royal Coachman
1 Main Street North (at Dundas) Waterdown, Ontario
Registration Opens: 1:30 PM
Beginner’s Meeting: 2:20 PM
Driver’s Meeting: 2:40 PM
Car ‘0’ Starts: 3:00 PM
Car ‘0’ Finishes: 9:15 PM (approx)
The January Jaunt is a winter navex with real rally instructions on real navigational rally
roads. Because this event is held in the winter, more challenging driving conditions can
be expected.
It is strongly recommended that you have snow tires

All competitors must carry a safety triangle.
It is recommended that all competitors carry a winter safety kit
(e.g. shovel, blanket, candle, bottled water).
Any auxiliary lights should be controlled through a single switch
that also disables high beams.

Were you at the NWM rally? What car were you in? You probably saw/heard my uber-loud bugeye with the 4-hellas on the lightbar in front.

Yep I was there. Blue WRX. I wish I met more people when I was there only had a chance to talk to a few crews.

Loved the NWM Rally was a blast. We got the Cool competitor award. LOL thats how much fun we had.

Awesome! Good to hear you had fun... My navigator and I are just getting started in it too, that was our 4th rally.

If you're liking it, you should check out the Saturday Nights At The Rallies next summer. They're super-fun, beginner oriented to help you get going in the sport.

Yeah just read it sounds like a good thing to have. Problem is its a ways out for only a few hours for most people. Including myself LOL.

Maybe a East end one is around. I need the practice.

Trying to figue out if I need Aux lights ATM. But probably not. Just good to have.

Not necessary (I've done 2 night rallies)... But since I got mine, I can't imagine driving at night without them.

Also, I recommend a skid plate during winter rallies. You never know what "pile" of snow is really just hiding a rock.

I an unable to participate with my own car, however if your Navigator is unavailable, I would gladly sub in.

What I said previously is not entirely true, we turned it on while on the first leg, just after the second checkpoint.
