Re: My Small Port AE86
Tomorrow I am getting some coilovers. The welding has already made a difference. I found a guy that lives about 48 seconds from my house that does LSD installation. I can't wait to have this car trackable soon!

Re: My Small Port AE86
Can you tell its nice out? Progress is being made! Here are some pics of it painted in the sunlight. Also, this is all the aftermarket suspension stuff I have to put in including the Megan coilovers and RCA's I just bought!!! I can't wait to track this thing!
Prothane bushings for the front, the proper sending unit for my oil pressure gauge, stainless steel break lines.
Megan coilovers, RCA's, AE92 212mm flywheel, 2 way TRD LSD, front fender braces, new calliper (I only changed one before).
The only new parts that I don't have in these pics that I currently have are the TRD strengthened LCA's.

Re: My Small Port AE86
Today I started ripping into my girl. Got everything off the driver side in the front. The LCA is off, its just sitting there. The only thing I still beed to take off is the tension rod. I also got one of the fender braces on and I think it looks sexy!!!

Re: My Small Port AE86
After a full day of being outside, I made a bit of progress.
Driver side totally done, fender on, LCA changed, coilover installed, brakes back together.
Passenger side almost done, fender brace properly, fender back on, coilover in, stainless line in.
Under the hood, I changed my intake tube for a slightly shorter one thanks to Josh for the free tube I cut, and painted my strut bar to match the engine instead of being gold and orange...
I also made my front emblem off centre, cause I am cool like that!
One thing I couldn't do was get the tension rod bushings changed, I don't have the means of busting the nuts off!!! So I conceded and decided that when I get an alignment, I will need to get that done too...

Re: My Small Port AE86
So without doing much more then an hour of actual work to my car, there has been a fair amount of progress!
Earlier I said I conceded because I couldn't bust my nuts... Well with the help of the proper crazy looking device, that was all changed! This induction heater did the trick, and it was awesome! I would suggest picking one up... If they were not going for a few grand...
After getting them off, I got one side done, but it was getting too late to bang around and make a lot of noise...
Today, I also went and bought a few things, some banjo bolts for my new braided lines, some carrier bearings for the LSD, and I thought it was time to lose these tires I rode around on all winter...
And get these!
I got 4 ES100's for $140! They are not in bad shape at all! Time to paint my spare set of Supra's and get them mounted!

Re: My Small Port AE86
I got the passenger side done in the front and I am now 100% done the front.
I moved onto the back, it was soooo easy and fast! If you can, just unbolt the bumpers, its sooooo much faster then trying to cut them... Josh!
I ended up taking that rubber piece off the top.
And this is how the car sat.
Front
Back
Lowwwww! I need to pick it up a little for everyday use I think, but I will deal with that later.
I need to change the back lines to the braided ones I have, and get the LSD out and off to be set up, then I think I will be done for a little bit!

Re: My Small Port AE86
Due to me needing the car sooner then I thought I would, the LSD is going to have to wait... Also, I tried to paint my rims, then it got really windy and cold really fast, and it made the paint go funny and it now looks like crap... I guess it was just trying to match the paint on the rest of the car...

Re: My Small Port AE86
So I have finally started to do the LSD! I again have the slutty slide hammer that seems to get passed around a lot! I found that my axles were actually Zenki, but its really good I had a spare set of kouki ones laying around... So I now have some zenki axles I hope I will be able to trade off soon. After a day of fighting with her, the third member is out! One axle came out like butter, the other side needed extra weight added to the slide hammer so, but as soon as I did that, it was easy! The third member fell out and crushed my finger, and there is one rotor that WILL NOT come off my zenki axle, the other one put up a really good fight, this one is currently soaking in WD-40, it's about 3/4 of the way off. Soon I should have some good locking action!
Pulled with rotor on because they just wouldn't fully let go!
Extra weight that was needed for the driver's side.
Mmmm! TRD goodness! Thank you Bryan for setting this up for me! I can't wait to get it in and try it out!
Is this enough said?
And I said I was going to take it easy... Guess I can't...
PS If I don't get a better pic of my car drifting before the competition, I am entering it next month!

Re: My Small Port AE86
I am not that good yet. One of my Toyota meets I will get my friend's to show me how. Also, now that I am getting better traction, my clutch is slipping even more... Time to get that larger, lighter flywheel I have in there, I just need to get a matching clutch for it first...

Re: My Small Port AE86
This panhard was awesome, I need to get one as soon as I get my other problems sorted out, thanks Greg!
These are my new rims and tires too, I think they are sexy, still need to paint the centre caps.
So the day before my friends and I did some stuff to a few cars (all 86's) and then the next day, it was my first track day!
There were other cars there, but the 86's were the coolest, and most people stopped after a few laps, we went all day long!
My Dad loved it, he wants to try next time, he wont be living his life one 1/4 mile at a time any more!
And I have the best gf in the world, she was happy and smiling the whole time, I am so glad she isn't a screamer! Well... I guess thats a different story for a different time... :p
So after the track day, which was lots of fun, I found my brakes were pretty much shot! I knew my master was weak, but not its pretty much dead. I also needed some Dot 4 fluid. I got some Brembo rotors for the front, no one can find me anything for the back... I will leave the pads that are on there on for another week or two, then I will be getting HP+ all around this time, I think thats actually whats on it now though, I put them on the front and someone else did on the back. I am also taking this time because the master is off to make a brake stopper. I will be getting a piece of angle iron today from my old work to try and make a stopper with it, we shall see how it goes, but for the price of free, I may as well try!
The Dot 4 fluid I got was Wilwood.
This job would all be done today, but of course, something had to go wrong. Last time I bled the brakes, I broke a bleeder on my rear drive side caliper, guess which caliper bleeder I broke this time? Same f'ing one!

Re: My Small Port AE86
So I started with this.
Made it and test fit it.
Painted it.
And did a final fitting.
I was told I would need to have a set screw or it would try and move sideways one me, just bolting it tight isn't going to to stop the master from moving is it? Anyone's ideas?
