Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
Hey all.
We all know what happened in Binbrook on sunday. If your not happy with it then make it known and let the government and cheif of police know. My brother was almost arrested due to speaking his mind there since they knew they were being dicks.
Already i have seen some people saying they were going to voice their opinions so here are some email addresses to people who can make a difference.
cheif of hamilton police
gdecaire@hamiltonpolice.on.ca
Pc Leader for that area - Tim Hudak
tim.hudakco@pc.ola.org
Hamilton Parliment
Allison.D@parl.gc.ca
Let your voices heard cause if we cant get to the track to race then street racing will become the best option again!

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
^Great post!
Most people won't bother making the trip to the track, and just hit the streets. With then making it this hard to get to the track, most will just resort to street racing. I agree with setting speed traps, but a full fledged spot check is unecessary. I wasn't involved personally, but I still will be sending a message regarding what happend and how I feel about it.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
Yeah a speed trap would have made sense. Speeding through that small town is unsafe. But a biased spot check was complete bull shit. After our group got through the check point we watched what they "randomly" picked for the check and it was jdm cars and trucks pulling trailers with race cars.
CSCS is already loosing people for the show and shine due to problems with judging, if these spot checks happen again CSCS show is gonna suffer huge!

just fucking bullshit , this will ruin cscs , and i didnt hear what happened to your brother so what happened?
Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
Hydrolikz wrote:They pulled over trucks with race cars on the trailer???
Yes they sure were. Any truck that came through with a race car behind it or a trailer that looked like it had a race car in it was being pulled over, checked over and searched for unsafe materials and every single strap is in place.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
I suggest for next time we find an alternate route and possible send a small group of lightly modded cars in front of the main group to avoid any other stops.
But i agree infamous, this stuff will ruin CSCS in the long run. CSCS did post up on their facebook page on sunday warning people to be careful in Binbrook.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
I wasnt there, dont agree with it, but I'm in no way surprised by it, its been going on for years, muscle car guys, tuner guys, motorcycle clubs/events, I've seen it at mosport even like 15yrs ago before an SCCA event.. It's sad that it almost always takes place outside events meant to encourage safe racing enviroments, like CSCS, like Arm Drop (Pinks All Out for Canada) . I encourage anyone who feels a desire to voice their opinion to local politicians and law enforcement, though I dont see it making much, if any, difference.. The only way they'll ever stop such things is if they stop finding illegally modified cars (and unsafe trailering apparently as well). Its the same with speedtraps, theyre not going to stop doing them as long as theyre catching people breaking the law.. I think events like CSCS..etc should reach out to the MTO and OPP..etc and explain that the car community we're part of, come out to the events in an attempt to keep the streets safer, and enjoy our passion, with those who also enjoy it, in a controlled safe enviroment. Perhaps invite them to do checks at the event, post a disclaimer to people attending ahead of time that they will be on hand, anyone who knows their car isnt street legal could decide whether or not to risk it. Im sure there's a vast majority of members that wont agree with my point of view and will see the situation as nothing but discrimination, which is fine, I respect your opinion, just thought I'd throw it out there, its 4:30am and I'm horribly bored... I'm done rambling now
P.S. THIS WAS IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM DIRECTED TOWARDS ANYONE IN PARTICULAR. IF ANYONE WAS OFFENDED, I APPOLOGIZE, WAS NOT MY INTENT. STRICTLY AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW. I'M M.I.A A LOT DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS, BUT I STILL REP AND SUPPORT TTS IN ALL ITS ENDEAVORS

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
I agree with the above that it wont make a difference its mostly how it was conducted that is our biggest complaint. An unfair selection of cars being pulled in for "random searches" and also the fact they were doing it as a ride program (at 8am) and asking everyone if they had been drinking (at 8am).
It was sketchy. LOL!

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
well if it keeps happening then cscs will die out just like darkknights did & all the other shows.
so if they want to keep ppl off the streets then stop wrecking our shows or it will all go back to everyone playing on the streets for free instead of willingly going to a legit track n paying to ride on it. & cayuga has been hurting to keep the track open for few yrs now & with this stuff happening ppl will stop going one day & we will have no track to go to ...then lets see the police hire 50,000 new cops just to keep us from the streets again ...it a never ending battle. oh and also it seens pretty noob for them to hold that check spot there when ppl are not doing nothing ..but last few yrs they have been on the hwys on the way looking for speeders but when no one speeds they get a hard on and look for other traps. i get so many court dates it not even funny & 98% get dropped for me ..now im suppose to run with a cat oh my lord drop a brick on my head ..so illeagle i should do life....but if i fix that ill get no rhd sticker or muffler illeagle.or just cause im on the right side of the car ..all im saying is that i try to keep legit & stil get tickets for nothing so i might as well say fux it n keep it how it is cause eather way il get somthing ..now if it sticks in court that a diffrent story cause it usaly dont so it just waste of time for me to get ticket & taking a day or two to go to court just to see it dropped. or the fight still is there : untill the cops stop seeing modded cars they will never stop. it happened with the old school cars long ago & now they are hooked on tuners now. i say fuc the track for me @ least & ill keep doing what i been doing for 15+yrs now keep it on the streets cause i go to track and bang!! i get screwed.... maybe i never get caught on the road cause they are to slow and need traps to get us by saying "take it to the track so we can ticket you.." & like i said b4 i didnt see the copos or mto pull over tany of the 8 muscle cars that went thru & once on other side of the block they guned it & when the 1st guy tryed to stop @ a light he almost got rearended. now as i recall i didnt see any tuner guy doing stupid shit like that but we got pulled & they didnt i wonder why. now they dont need emissions stuff i know but i think it was wreckless driving in a town of 50km reving n gunning there cars and 30feet after the block there was a light which the accident almost happened at. + i lookeed into it & somone with a T on there plate can drive on sundays.

like i said, i wasnt there so i dont know how it went down, nor do I have the anger (or whatever the right word is) about it happening to me, im sure I'd be pissed/frustrated...etc too, I'm just lookin at it from the outside and chalking it up with insurance profiling by sex, age, vehicle type...etc, government being corrupt and dumb, gas companies charging whatever they want, bullshit parts of life we're pretty much stuck with and i dont feel like fighting against anymore

i couldnt agree any more with ya ..but there is a day when you just had it & say fuck it .but this is what will wreck shows happening @ cayuga & if that happens then one day cayuga will be no more . that would suck for everyone. if that happens & there no where SAFE to race then people will just do what they did in the old days. hit the streets.then all that crap the cops saying to everyone "take it to the track" will be for no good. likw it everyone that went to the show that day got it .trucks with trailers & imports mostly. half the ppl hauling a trailer got a "yellow ticket" for having a trailer with a race car inside being to heavy for a big dually pick up truck. the drivers all had been driving al this time with a G lic when they were told they needed a AZ . & a guy with a T on his plate was told he was not allowed to be driving on a sunday with that on his plate. pure B.S.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
Wow seems like a royal P.I.T.A on what the MTO and cops did on Sunday. They are hypocritical. They want people to go to the track and take it off the streets but they will pull you over, tear down your car and ticket you on your way to the track.. It's BS in my opinion. I understand their are A LOT of idiots out there and everyone suffers the blunt from them... aka Ertefa. They are just doing their jobs but sometimes they don't plan things out very well.
I didn't go through Binbrook.. I actually have no idea where that is. I go the same route every time and it's nice roads, no traffic and.. NO cops. I didn't see a single one on the way there and back. It's just a bunch of little back roads here and there just when you start getting into Hamilton.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
It's definitely daunting that Ontario police seem to be out to get tuners / car enthusiasts. I'm not sure why exactly this is the case, but there seems to be a deep-rooted (hate?) vs. the car culture in general here... noticed this since I moved to Toronto back in 2006 (and Ive been told it's been goin on for much longer than that). Which is strange because I have friends in other Canadian Cities namely Vancouver and MTL that say the cops in general are pretty lax about car enthusiasts / won't give them a hard time UNLESS you're breaking the law. Here in Toronto, even when driving in a respectable manner + following all the rules they will still hassle you for reasons like: improper muffler / car too low / not running cat etc etc which would otherwise go unnoticed in other jurisdictions
So why is this the case?
- Is it because Toronto (and Ontario in general) have a long history with illegal street racing resulting in a high death count?
- Is it because of the negative image tuners have on the society? In relationship with drugs / violence / gangs etc.? (I call this the Fast n Furious effect)
- Do tuners (majority / minority) drive like idiots on public roads which draw unwanted attention?
- Are modified cars posing a threat to public roads (i.e. car so low it's causing sparks to fly) OR the environment? (i.e. mufflers spitting flames... no cats causing pollution etc.)
The above are NOT facts but rather questions we as a community should ask ourselves and prioritize. Figure out a way to demonstrate to the PUBLIC that they are infact false, or if true (which i know some are... for example a lot, and I don't mean to target Honda enthusiasts but for some reason a lot of civic drivers drive like idiots on highways and want to race anyone with a "sporty" car.) How to fix the problem.

Re: Binbrook spot check....not impressed, take action
well when they have blocks like that they get to go on the news n brag about how many tickets they give out "but they never ones tell you how many really stick in court cause it probly like 1/3 of what they wrote in the first place. but the higher the numbers they get the more they think they are the best police .& with that lable comes attitude & there's sucks thay think they are robocop's or somthing.
