good thing chipped ecus have a way to ignore reoccuring check engine light codes if needed =)

2013 is the year for all even number cars. so any 2000, 02, 04, 06 etc

I had to do mine recently, luckily the guy let me go easy haha, for mine since its diesel its visual test, so rev to 2500rpm and hold for 15 seconds. if you smoke you fail...problem is my car starts to smoke at 2300rpm haha, so the guy let me rev to 2200 and called it a pass Smile


and ya its any CEL that has to do with emissions basically, any sort of breather fault, or cat fault.
If its a CEL for something stupid it wont matter.

besides, like I think jonathan said, if its chipped you can usually get away with it. I know I dont get the fault for not having a cat cause I programmed the ECU to bypass that sensor so no fault Smile my CEL is only on cause my MAF is fucked lmao but this was no problem to the drive test.

For those who don't know, now if you have a "Hot Rod" car (Car with an engine that was never put in by factory) needs to be registered with the driveclean program to be able to do an etest.

So basically if you have a civic with a b18 or b20 you have to fill out a form and send it in with receipts from the swap and then they will send you a confirmation number for when you go for the etest. Oh and if you don't have receipts, you have to go to a dealership and get a letter written by them saying what engine it is and crap.

I just ran into this with my civic, looked like a pain in the ass so i ran it as a b16 instead and avoided it all.

Just letting all know as i did not know. I have the form if anyone needs it.

also apparently cars from 1997 and older still use the old etest system. Very Happy

Yes all obd1 cars get the 2 speed idle test with the sniffer and obd2 cars get the new computer test.

Im pretty sure your eclipse is obd2 so you get the new test.

its 1997 and older have 2 speed. doesnt matter if obd2 or obd1. 1997 and below get the 2 speed and 1998 and above get plugged in

Okay!!

My birthday was on april the 4th. STILL DONT HAVE MY STICKER.

My CEL has been on for at least 2 years, was on for the last E-test, passed flying colours.

Now they refuse. I tried everything, took the car to ford for a well overpriced oil change. Got them to clear the codes, drove 60km, CEL came on as soon as i got to the e test place.

Finally got the codes red, my cold air intake, and thermostact seem to be the issue. Cant find my stock CAI, ford wants 400 for the manifold, a K&N one is $300

Thermostact labour got quoted at 150. Today is may 18. STILL NO STICKER.

Got pulled over 2x now for having expired tags, 1st cop was nice let me off with a warning.

2nd cop took my car to town.

ended up walking away w\

1. ticket for expried tags (thats a gimmi)
2. Ticket for obstructiion of liscence plate (said the cover causes glare)
3. Ticket for my headlights

the tickets aint the issue. getting this thing off is. I seem to know what needs to be done but this is crazy money i really wasnt plan on spending.

gonna try my luck w \ a temp tag see how long i can go for cause ill tell ya, this test is some BULLSHIT!!!

questions comments help, please, very welcome right now!!!!
