Jfrzy's 4th Gen Altima Sedan
So I'm just copying my intro pics into here to start off. Lots of plans underway.
Bought the car 3 months ago with the tails already tinted. Since then I've debadged the rear, color-matched the grill and rear trunk brow (chrome to black), installed KYB shocks/struts with Eibachs and that's about it so far.
I'll post pics of the car with the new suspension as soon as I take one .
06/28/12 - Bought the following parts:
-K&N Intake
-Magnaflow 28" Resonator
-(2) Borla Boomer Thumper Mufflers
-(2) 2.5"x6" Double Braided SS Flex Pipe
-Gaskets/Flanges
Having a custom y-pipe fabricated with 2.5" piping, as well as custom piping from the resonator to the mufflers. Will post pics once all the parts are in and a sound clip when everything is installed.
TWINS!

Re: Jfrzy's 4th Gen Altima Sedan
07/05/12 Got the exhaust installed today.
As you can tell from the pictures of the stock y-pipe and exhaust, there are more than a few spots where air flow becomes restricted. I lose a lot of power due to this. A popular upgrade with Altimas is the Racingline Y-Pipe which connects to the two cats via 2.25" piping and then comes together into 2.5" piping. You achieve the most gains with this bolt on mod as a result of eliminating crimping in the factory pipe.
I was speaking with my mechanic (owns his own custom performance garage) and he mentioned that he could fabricate me a y-pipe for half the price of the Racingline one. Since my original plan was to purchase the Racingline Y-Pipe in combination with the Stillen Exhaust, I decided to go with the more economical and custom route.
As seen above, I purchase twin Borla Boomer Thumper mufflers, a Magnaflow Resonator and a K&N Typhoon Intake.
The following pics show the progress of my mechanic's work throughout the day. I opted out of tig welding because honestly no one else is seeing the piping of my exhaust but him and I, so welds were unimportant as long as they were strong.

Re: Jfrzy's 4th Gen Altima Sedan
Here are pics of the stock exhaust. Aluminized steel construction with a lot of crimped piping, some of it unneccessary even for fitment. My piping is all stainless steel.
With the Y-Pipe we opted for pie cuts to keep the diameter at 2.5" all the way through, even with a tight bend, rather than feed 2.25" into a 2.5" like the Racingline Y-Pipe does.

Just a quick clip, needs to be redone properly. There was too much wind noise and I think my phone was too close to the car.Clip was taken with a Galaxy Nexus and doesn't include quick/slow acceleration nor does it include in cabin.

Oh and yes, the right muffler needs to be tilted upwards a fraction of an inch. It was 4am when we finished the install and we all wanted to go to bed .

Re: Jfrzy's 4th Gen Altima Sedan
Today, I received my K&N Typhoon intake. I'll be installing that tomorrow. I also received my OEM GT-R start button. The pictures do not do the colour of the button justice. For those who have not been inside a GT-R, the button's finish is a pearly deep red; it's a nice, subtle change to my interior.
Before, ugly opaque white button.
After, shiny red button.

Had black zinc-coated, cross-drilled/slotted rotors installed all around as well as painted my calipers teal.

I'm trying to catch up to the amount of love put into an Alti by some of the other TTS members, yours being one of the top ones! Seriously debating going air ride instead of 6-speed swap and boost. I have no desire to track my car, and it's quick enough as it is, but I would love to be slammed.

Re: Jfrzy's 4th Gen Altima Sedan
My opinion
6 Speed w/LSD & Boost > Air Ride.
But at the same time I dont mind driving static slammed, but I know how to manouver my driveway while others can't. Lol! It's all about preference though, because if my 2.5L had 3.5L performance I would be happy with it too.
